Slow Motion with D

I'm sure most of you cycling fans already know that yesterdays stage took a lot longer than they thought it would, due to the rain, cold temps and nasty winds.  Before the start, however, it was all smiles!

The Doug O fan club was in full effect!


Olson, Treefarm, Wicks, Doug, rain?  Is this a group ride in Portland?

We all got interviewed by the Rock Racing camera crew.

There are other racers here besides Doug.  Here's Tim Johnson and the Kona boys trash talking each other about cross season already.

Doug moved up to 36th GC yesterday and they actually have their tt bikes now, so we'll see how he rolls today.  The weather is holding, but clouds surround the area....

In Solvang today for the individual tt. Pretty important race of, "truth," being that only seconds separate the top contenders and they can all time trial. I'm sitting at the Bulldog Cafe and here are my companions...



That's Ekimov on the left, Barbara (cafe owner) and Levi eating breakfast. In case K-man is wondering he had noodles and green tea. The clouds look to be retreating, so that's a good sign for the day!

Rolled into Santa Cruz and called up Wicks.  Ate some Argentinean food and went to a punk rock show.  Bonus, Trebon was in town moshing with the best of them.

I think we're all rolling to the start of stage 4 in the A.M.  Jimmy and Ben T are in the area getting fit as well, so it's gonna be a big Oregon cheering section for Dougie!

I'm back in Cali again working, but I was able to catch the prologue and stage 1 start/finish of the Tour of California. Pretty cool to see this kind of excitement at a race in the U.S. Still doesn't compare to a Alpenrose cross crusade though...ok, maybe it does. Here are some pics. I'm not the, "super fan," that cozies up to the pros to get photos, but I have seen some pretty cool racers. I'm driving lots and eating lots, so my belly is growing! My riding has yet to start for the year, but I am itching to push the pedals...maybe if the weather stays nice for more than a day...

Doug before stage 1. I think he likes seing a familiar face, especially before stage 1 when all the talk was about who wasn't racing...He says my beard inspired him to grow one of his own. BEAVERGRRR!!!!!!
